After Jessica Eastman Stewart’s brother, Nick Eastman, passed away in 2015, she began an annual tradition to honor his memory called #NickWasKind. Each year on his birthday, July 3, her family does good deeds—buying coffee for folks behind them in line, leaving gas money or surprise gifts on car windshields, donating blood, baking treats for firefighters, etc. “It started with those of us who knew Nick,” Jessica explains, “but has grown to include people who never met him, some of whom discovered #NickWasKind after experiencing an act of kindness themselves.” We hope Jessica’s story will inspire you to action, especially on National Random Acts of Kindness Day.…
