A CONFRONTATION over stolen jackfruit from a Redcliffe farm led to two men being hacked with a panga. According to Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), they were called to a scene in Dawnview Drive, when the two men were found with serious injuries, on Sunday morning. Rusa head Prem Balram said it appeared the men were under the influence of alcohol. He said one of the victims, who was employed at the farm, and his friend were walking down the road when they noticed the two suspects, alleged to be drug addicts, carrying a black refuse bag. “They stopped the alleged suspects and questioned them about the contents of the bag. “A dispute ensued after they established that the suspects were in possession of jackfruit, believed to have been stolen…

THE continued killings and destruction between Israel and the Palestinians is a tragedy for the world. America provides $10 billion worth of weapons to Israel every year. If $1 billion of that money was given to the Palestinians for building of infrastructure and development of agriculture, then it would be a blessing for the region.
