If you’re a bead lover who is a member of a bead society, you’re lucky. Bead societies, whether formal or informal, large or small, give members an opportunity to come together with others who have the same passion to learn from and be inspired by one another. IN THE BEGINNING The oldest U.S. bead society, The Bead Society of Los Angeles, was established in 1975. At the time of its founding, a wealth of trade beads were coming into the Los Angeles area. Q I love to braid, but hate trying to figure out what findings to use, so I have a lot of completed braids but not much finished jewelry. Can you help me learn how to finish them? A I think that the finishing is what makes or breaks a piece. Often the braid is rather simple, so it is the finishing that sets it apart! There are many easy ways to end a braid.
