Semaglutide drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy work by increasing the levels of the GLP-1 hormone, which slows digestion and makes us feel full faster, Scourboutakos writes in The Conversation.
But given the drugs’ high price tags and long list of side effects, including nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea and fatigue, many people would instead prefer to follow a diet that imitates the drugs’ appetite-reducing effects.
