From 1 November to 14 December 2018 the skies of the Americas will be the place for adventure as the ‘Vintage Air Rally Ushuaia2USA’ takes place. For the first time, a vintage aircraft rally will link Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, with Lakeland, Florida. According to Sam Rutherford, rally director, the aim is “to demonstrate that these very old planes can still manage these epic adventures particularly in a world where we throw things away after just a year or two”. Fifteen vintage biplanes will fly over Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico and Cuba to finish in Florida.
